Job summary

Kindly Direct Care is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Elmwood Park, NJ. This role focuses on companionship, community involvement, and daily living skills within home and community settings.

The schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. A reliable vehicle is required to drive on shift, with documentation and reliable communication with the Kindly team expected.

About This Opportunity

This individual is looking for a consistent DSP who can provide companionship, help them get out into the community, and encourage greater independence. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships and helping another person participate more fully in everyday life.

What You'll Do

• Provide one-to-one companionship and person-centered support.
• Help the individual get out into the community and participate in activities he enjoys, such as going to the mall, Target, swimming, and working out. Encourage and motivate him to stay active.
• Support errands, appointments, recreation, volunteering, social opportunities, or other community activities as applicable.
• Encourage independence, communication, decision-making, self-advocacy, and life skills.
• Help the individual work toward goals identified in the service plan.
• Provide reminders, routine support, or light assistance as required by the case.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate reliably with the Kindly team.

What We're Looking For

• Warm, patient, dependable, and genuinely interested in building a consistent relationship.
• Able to reliably work the posted schedule.
• Comfortable supporting an adult one-to-one in home and community settings.
• RELIABLE VEHICLE REQUIRED
• DSP, mentoring, education, recreation, human services, or caregiving experience is helpful but may not be required for this assignment.

Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays 8:00AM-3:30PM

Pay: 22-25/hr.
