Job summary

Copperas Cove ISD is seeking a Life Skills/PCMD/FA Aide to support students with significant disabilities in a highly structured classroom environment. The aide will implement self-help, communication, and academic activities under teacher supervision.

Under the direction of a certified special education teacher, responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, behavior management, data collection, and collaboration with staff to meet Individual Education Plan goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group services to students as per IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers to improve language skills.
• Maintain and file reports and documents.
• Assist students with physical needs and personal care as required.
• Support in behavior management and crisis intervention when needed.
• Supervise students during the day including lunchroom, bus duty, and playground.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with data entry and confidentiality requirements.
