Job summary

W. R. Berkley Corporation’s Berkley Life Sciences seeks an underwriting professional to lead new business marketing, production, and renewal underwriting for complex life sciences accounts across regions. You will build broker relationships, analyze risk, and support product launches and campaigns to drive growth.

Candidates should have strong analytical skills, 3+ years of underwriting in life sciences, and a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience.
• Life Science Products Liability experience.
• Claims made experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for account solicitation, risk selection and analysis including pricing and marketing of Berkley Life Sciences products and services for new and existing customers.
• Build strong relationships with brokers to meet financial goals including growth, profit, retention, and new business.
• Business development for assigned book of business including finding new producers to expand opportunities within a region.
• Identify opportunities for account rounding.
• Provide technical support to producers and insureds.
• Stay current with all compliance, procedural and workflow changes.
• Collaborate with underwriting, operations, legal, and risk management teams.
• Support innovation initiatives, product launches, marketing campaigns and short-term projects.
