Job summary

Columbia Technology Ventures, the technology transfer office for Columbia University, seeks a Technology Licensing Officer for life sciences. The role reports to the Senior Director, Commercialization & Licensing and drives IP identification, evaluation, and licensing strategies with Columbia researchers and industry partners.

Candidates will have a PhD or advanced degree and at least one year of related experience, with strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage

• Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex scientific information and communicate its significance to varied audiences.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify IP and licensing potential within Columbia research.
• Develop commercialization and patent strategies with investigators and patent counsel.
• Recommend projects for investment from CTV validation fund.
• Perform marketing and market research to identify licensees and industry partners.
• Negotiate and execute sponsored research and licensing agreements with industry partners.
