Job summary

Lonza is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist in Bend, Oregon. This site-based role focuses on translating customer requests into technical and commercial proposals, coordinating with Sales, Commercial Development, and Operations to secure new business while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role involves partnering with cross-functional teams, shaping project scopes, timelines, and costs, and delivering competitive, technically sound solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related discipline.
• Proven track record in scientific program or project management with cross-functional and multi-national collaboration.
• Strong customer-facing skills with ability to negotiate, problem-solve and deliver creative commercial solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in project management software (MS Project) and standard business applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, databases).

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requests (RFI/RFP) into project scope, timelines, costs, quotes and pricing.
• Lead and manage customer project strategies with cross-functional teams (Sales, Commercial Development, Operations).
• Maintain proposal content and knowledge management; ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Chair internal and external meetings professionally to align stakeholders and drive progress.
• Generate and maintain department metrics (e.g., proposal log) and coordinate handovers to Operations and Program Management.
