Job summary

Lonza in Bend, Oregon is seeking an Analytical Chemist to perform critical laboratory analyses supporting dosage form development and clinical manufacturing. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline and experience in a GMP-influenced lab environment.

You will operate HPLC and FTIR, participate in method validation and transfer, and ensure data integrity in a regulated setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • Experience in a laboratory environment; GMP experience preferred
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, FTIR, or similar methods
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing for release and stability of raw materials and finished products
  • Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation, including HPLC and FTIR
  • Support method validation, verification, and transfer activities under supervision
  • Document laboratory work and review data in compliance with cGMP standards and data integrity requirements
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Train and mentor new team members on standard laboratory procedures
  • Conduct sampling and testing for cleaning verification

Job description

The actual location of this job is in Bend, Oregon (USA). Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

This is a fully site-based role. Working on-site enables strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and ensures the highest standards of quality and compliance in a regulated laboratory environment.
