Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will bring a strong scientific background, patent prosecution experience, and excellent technical communication skills. This opportunity is available in select office locations and offers a flexible structure, particularly for attorney candidates not seeking a traditional partnership track.

Location:

Duties:

Draft and prosecute patent applications in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors

Collaborate with inventors, in-house counsel, and legal teams to develop and implement IP strategies

Conduct patentability assessments and prior art searches

Draft responses to USPTO Office Actions

Stay current on industry developments in AI, computational biology, and related technologies

Assist with client counseling and technical writing projects

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of patent prosecution experience

Demonstrated knowledge in bioinformatics, computational biology, artificial intelligence, or closely related fields

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong attention to detail and time management

Willingness to work in a non-remote, office-based setting

Writing samples and academic transcripts required

Education:

Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, AI, or a closely related life science or computational field

Certifications:

USPTO Registration required

Attorney candidates must be licensed to practice law in the state corresponding to their primary office location
