Job summary

LJC Design & Engineering, part of the Clayco design-build platform, seeks a Design Project Manager – Life Sciences in the United States. You will lead multidisciplinary design teams delivering regulated facilities for pharma, biotech, and life sciences clients across the full lifecycle from planning to construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering or architectural design in GMP/FDA environments.
• Experience as a design project manager or senior technical leader on complex projects.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences facility design.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and regulatory-driven design.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary architectural and engineering design teams on life sciences projects.
• Plan, track, and manage project scope, budget, schedule, and staffing.
• Coordinate between design teams, construction teams, and external consultants.
• Lead design reviews and ensure quality control throughout the design lifecycle.
• Identify risks and manage scope changes and technical challenges.
• Oversee designs from concept through construction documentation.
• Ensure designs meet GMP/FDA and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with clients, present designs, and support proposals.
