Clayco, a leading North American real estate, development and construction firm, is seeking a Superintendent specializing in Life Sciences construction. You will meticulously plan and orchestrate projects, coordinating tasks, timelines, and budgets while upholding workmanship and material quality.

The role covers full site supervision, safety plan implementation, supervising teams and subcontractors, negotiating issues, and ensuring compliance with design and standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of life sciences construction management experience on projects $30M+.
• 3-15 years in technical commercial/industrial construction management on $50M+ projects with design-build preferred.
• Ability to supervise construction employees within budget and schedule.
• Strong safety record and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to travel or relocate to jobsite.
• Adaptive, collaborative, with strong time management and organization.
• Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Implement health and safety project plans on-site.
• Oversee the construction process and ensure budget compliance.
• Organize and supervise construction teams to meet requirements.
• Record costs for materials and payments.
• Conduct inspections of worker performance and safety.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Liaise with government inspectors and develop on-site requirements.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure punctual delivery.
• Maintain construction quality and budget adherence.
• Write project progress records with the foreman.
• Encourage safety training and enforce policies.
• Monitor productivity and address issues to keep schedules.
• Inspect work for compliance with standards.
• Communicate safety expectations and identify issues for improvement.
• Build relationships, negotiate effectively, handle criticism.
