Job summary

Colossal Biosciences in Dallas, TX seeks a senior Construction Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and close-out of complex facility construction projects, including life sciences labs and animal care spaces.

You will act as the owner’s representative, coordinating general contractors, design teams, and vendors, while ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality targets and align with Colossal’s conservation mission.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive experience in construction project management with at least 2 years as owner’s representative.
• Bachelor’s degree in CM/Architecture/Engineering/Biology/Business or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-phase construction projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Serve as owner’s representative for life sciences and specialized facilities projects.
• Manage programming, design coordination, construction, close-out, commissioning, and activation.
• Coordinate general contractors, architects, engineers, IT/AV/security vendors, and equipment suppliers.
• Monitor scope, budget, and schedule; report performance to leadership.
• Review schedules, submittals, and RFIs for compliance with contracts and specs.
• Conduct site visits and provide weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Process change orders; evaluate unit prices and time/material charges with client approvals.
• Coordinate long-lead procurement and commissioning milestones.
• Manage permits, licenses, and occupancy with authorities and utilities.
• Oversee punch lists, warranty coordination, and owner’s manuals for facilities teams.
• Lead activation and commissioning testing; coordinate with landlords and contractors.
• Develop budgets and track expenditures; report variances to leadership.
• Prepare detailed reports on phases, milestones, risks, issues, and outcomes.
