Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown PC in San Francisco is seeking a Life Sciences Audit Senior to lead engagements from planning through completion. You will supervise staff, mentor juniors, and build strong client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Based in the SF office, collaborate with partners to resolve complex accounting issues, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and regulatory standards while delivering world-class service to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license or pursuing CPA certification required.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience with leadership of multiple engagements.
• Excellent analytical, technical and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and projects in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills; excellent verbal, written and presentation abilities.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team in planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and support to staff and coordinate with engagement manager and partner.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on issue resolution and accounting/regulatory matters during audits.
• Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage multiple engagements and teams to meet client deadlines.
• Create and monitor engagement budgets and identify inefficiencies.
• Mentor team members and contribute to professional development discussions.
