Job summary

The City of Irving seeks an Animal Services Outreach Coordinator to build relationships with rescue organizations, foster networks and shelters, identify placement opportunities for adoptable and rescue animals, verify health certificates, and coordinate transfers to rescue partners and foster homes.

This role collaborates with shelter and veterinary staff to maintain animal records and support efforts to increase the shelter’s live release rate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience in an animal shelter environment are required.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check are required.
• Completion of euthanasia training within six months of hire is required (not a job duty).

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with rescue organizations, foster networks and other shelters.
• Identify placement opportunities for adoptable and rescue animals.
• Verify health certificates before sending to rescue partners or transports.
• Coordinate safe, timely transfers to rescue partners and foster homes.
• Maintain accurate animal records and support efforts to increase live release rate.
