Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide comprehensive life safety and emergency management services for Beaufort Memorial and offsite facilities. The role focuses on fire protection, life safety systems, inspections, and regulatory compliance to ensure patient and staff safety across all properties.

The ideal candidate will have an associate or higher degree in science or safety, plus two years of emergency management experience, and a NIMS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or higher degree in science/environmental health & safety or related field with two years of emergency management experience preferred.
• Two years of experience with Plant Services, daily routine, projects and emergency response preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate strategy with the BMH EOC Supervisor regarding planning and maintenance of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Ensure alignment with Joint Commission Physical Environment and Life Safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with NFPA 101/ NFPA 99 and CMS Conditions of Participation.
• Oversee inspection, testing and maintenance of life safety and physical environment systems.
• Lead hazard identification and corrective action planning.
