Beaufort County EMS is seeking highly skilled and dedicated EMS professionals to join our premier, non–fire-based 911 emergency medical service. Dedicated 911 EMS Response – We are not fire-based and do not provide routine facility transports.
No Firefighting Duties – Focus exclusively on emergency medical response.

Balanced Call Volume – Approximately 21,000 calls annually with 11 frontline ambulances and 5 Quick Response Vehicles (QRVs). Unlike larger systems with the same number of units responding to 50,000+ calls, our structure supports better call distribution, less fatigue, and higher quality patient care.

The purpose of this position is to safely operate an ambulance and its equipment, survey emergency scenes safely, coordinate with additional agencies for best possible treatment plan for the patient in medical/trauma situations. Safely work in inclement weather or on dangerous roadways. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
