Job summary

Northwest Health in Indiana seeks a Life Safety Coordinator to develop, coordinate, and maintain life safety and fire protection programs ensuring compliance with JC, NFPA, OSHA, CMS. You will oversee inspections, training, and drills across departments to protect patients and staff.

You will collaborate with AHJ, vendors, and leadership; manage records, service contracts, and reports. The role requires 3-5 years hospital facilities or life safety experience; certification in life safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge of life safety codes, regulations, and standards.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with attention to regulatory documentation.
• Effective communication and ability to lead training across departments.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local life safety regulations (JC, NFPA, OSHA, CMS).
• Conducts inspections of life safety systems and equipment and documents results.
• Coordinates fire drills and emergency preparedness training for staff.
• Maintains records of audits, inspections, training, contracts, and safety reports.
• Liaises with AHJ and external inspectors for facility inspections.
• Oversees fire alarm monitoring systems and communicates issues to staff.
• Manages Environment of Care plans and maintains manuals for all departments.
• Tracks service contracts and manages safety-related devices and pagers.
• Prepares reports for Environment of Care Committee and leadership.
