Job summary

Northwest Health La Porte is seeking a Life Safety Coordinator to develop and maintain life safety and fire protection programs, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. You will oversee inspections, documentation, training, and drills relating to fire safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years hospital facilities or life safety experience.
• Healthcare life safety code compliance experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills with regulatory focus.
• Effective communication and ability to lead training across departments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with life safety regulations (JC, NFPA, OSHA, CMS).
• Inspect life safety systems and equipment; document results.
• Coordinate fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
• Maintain records: audits, inspections, training, contracts, logs.
• Liaise with AHJ and external inspectors for facility inspections.
• Oversee fire alarm monitoring and respond to alerts.
