Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an experienced actuary to manage one or more actuarial functions for a product line or corporate process. The role includes pricing, reserving, and maintaining regulatory compliance, with leadership responsibilities and collaboration with management.

The position emphasizes strong analytical ability, communication of complex concepts, and the ability to guide pricing and modeling decisions while supporting major projects and regulatory interactions.

Qualifications

• FSA or equivalent designation with bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field.
• Bachelor's degree required; FSA/ASA desirable or progress toward designation.
• 7 years of relevant actuarial experience.
• In lieu of FSA/ASA, ASA or equivalent designation with 10 years of experience acceptable.
• Strong leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication of complex mathematical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and interpretation of actuarial information for management presentations.
• Monitor profitability by line of business and develop supporting analyses.
• Maintain compliance of product lines with state and federal regulations.
• Guide pricing, modeling methodologies, and reserving discussions.
• Supervise one or more actuarial teams and/or projects as needed.
