Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an experienced actuary to manage one or more actuarial functions for a product line or corporate process. The role involves pricing, maintenance, and presenting findings to management.

The position is hybrid, requiring three in-office days per week (Tue–Thu) at a hub location such as Baltimore, Cedar Rapids, or Denver. Relocation is not provided. The salary range is competitive with solid bonus potential.

Qualifications

• FSA or equivalent designation with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field and 7 years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of bachelor’s degree, a Master’s in a listed discipline with 5 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
• If using ASA or equivalent, 10 years of relevant experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Leads actuarial information preparation and interpretation for management presentations.
• Monitors profitability by line of business and product with supporting reports.
• Maintains product line or corporate process to comply with state and federal regulations.
• Manages studies underlying actuarial assumptions and provides data to others.
• Supports creation of systems specifications, contracts, and pricing structures.
• Monitors actuarial techniques and regulatory developments affecting operations.
• Provides guidance on pricing rates, modeling methods, and reserving.
• Leads major recurring projects during the year.
• Represents the company on industry committees and with regulators.
• May supervise a team of employees.
