Job summary

AmeriLife in Minnesota is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support medical and loan underwriting teams, collect requirements, review completeness, and submit to carriers and lenders. The role collaborates with internal and external customers to keep underwriting moving smoothly and to track exams and APS requests in Salesforce Chatter.

Key duties include assisting the case manager with carrier applications, issuing policies with carriers, drafting cover letters, and maintaining organized

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
• Experience with Salesforce and SharePoint is preferred.
• Experience supporting case managers or medical underwriters in the policy life cycle.
• Proficiency with policy administration applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts.
• Monitor cases throughout underwriting and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.
• Work with carriers to issue policies.
• Download application kits and populate information for Case Manager review.
• Draft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.
• Assist clients with routine policy service requests and annual policy reviews.
• Maintain organized underwriting files and enter case information in Salesforce and Salesforce Chatter.
• Provide administrative support to the Case Manager and underwriting team, including data entry and workflow follow-up.
