GBU Life is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join its Finance team in Pittsburgh. You will perform general accounting, reconciliation, financial reporting, and support for investment accounting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, close processes, and adherence to internal controls. Ideal candidates have up to 3 years of accounting experience, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with life insurance or statutory accounting principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of accounting, auditing, financial operations, or related experience.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to analyze financial information and investigate discrepancies.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare routine journal entries, reconciliations, analyses, and close schedules.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Assist with financial reporting and documentation for audits.
• Support investment accounting reconciliations and related analysis.
• Maintain documentation for internal controls and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance partners and resolve discrepancies.
