The Lifeguard will maintain pool safety, greet guests, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies with First Aid. This seasonal position requires lifeguard certification, a valid driver’s license, and a strong service mindset.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED & First Aid certification required with application.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience as a Lifeguard or in pool safety is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean pool area and surrounding environment.
• Open and close the pool each day.
• Greet guests and enforce pool rules.
• Ensure patron safety and respond to emergencies with First Aid when needed.
• Weekday and weekend availability, including holidays.

The Lifeguard is responsible for being professional and friendly with marina members and guests while maintaining the safety of those in and around the pool.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining a clean environment in and around the pool
• Opening and closing the pool each day
• Greeting customers as they enter the pool area
• Maintaining the safety of the patrons in and around the pool
• Represent the marina by maintaining a professional attitude
• Communicate and enforce all pool rules in a personable and professional manner
• Be able to respond to an emergency and provide First Aid assistance as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Weekday and weekend hours
• Availability to work holidays and weekends

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED & First Aid certification (required with application)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Any skills considered standard that a Lifeguard should possess
