Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC is seeking an Assistant Dockmaster at North Palm Beach, FL to serve as the marina ambassador and support the Dockmaster in safe mooring and dock operations.

You will interact with boaters, supervise dock staff, and uphold a clean, safe harbor environment while following safety rules and company procedures. Weekend availability and physical endurance are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; marina experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with boaters.
• Commitment to safety policies and proper use of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees berthing, mooring, storage and servicing of boats within the marina.
• Daily inspection and maintenance to provide a clean and safe facility.
• Manage, train, and supervise dock staff; first line of customer service for incoming boats.
• Ensure compliance with marina rules and safety regulations.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays; overtime as required.

The Assistant Dockmaster serves as the ambassador for the marina and is the first person with whom a customer will interact. The Assistant Dockmaster is responsible for working with the Dockmaster to ensure the safe mooring of vessels, general operation of the docks, assisting boaters, and maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees the management of berthing, mooring, storage and servicing of boats within the marina
• Daily inspection and maintenance to provide a clean and safe facility
• Manage, train, and supervise dock staff
• First line of customer service for incoming boats
• Responsible for daily operations of marina docks
• Supervise renting of slips
• Ensures that boaters observe all marina rules and regulations
• Availability to work overtime when required
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2-5 years’ marina experience preferred
• Ability to work safely around the water
• Must be able to swim
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Knowledge of dock construction and repair preferred
• Knowledge of basic power tools preferred
• Any skills considered standard that a Assistant Dockmaster should possess
