Job summary

Duke Life Flight, part of Duke Health, seeks an EMT to join the critical care transport team in Durham. You will operate transport ambulances, assist with patient care, and support multiple disciplines in fast-paced missions.

Full-time shifts are 12 hours, rotating day and night. Candidates should have NC EMT certification, a valid Class C license, and BLS or higher; relocation and a $5,000 commitment bonus are available per terms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years experience operating an ambulance/fire truck.
• Two years preferred EMT experience with an active EMS provider.
• Current NC EMT certification required.
• Current Class C-Driver’s license required.
• Current NC EVD (emergency vehicle driver) certification preferred.
• Current BLS (or higher) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Life Flight ambulance and support medical transport as part of the transport team.
• Perform daily maintenance and minor repairs to the vehicle and equipment.
• Assist nursing staff with patient care during transport and loading/unloading operations.
• Replenish medical air and oxygen and medical supplies used during transport.
• Know streets and highways within the response area of the mobile intensive care unit.
