Job summary

Duke Life Flight, part of Duke University Health System, seeks a full-time Emergency Medical Technician to join its on-site life support teams in Durham, NC. The EMT will operate the Life Care Critical Care Transport ambulance and support related medical services.

This role offers rotating 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a) with opportunities for a $5000 commitment bonus and relocation assistance. The position requires NC EMT certification and a valid Class C driver’s license, with EMS experience

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of ambulance/fire truck operation experience preferred.
• Two years preferred EMT experience with an active EMS provider.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs to the unit (bulbs, fluids, bolts, tires) and basic maintenance.
• Daily vehicle fueling and cleaning; report needs to Clinical Operations Director.
• Assist nursing staff with patient care and equipment handling during transport.
• Replenish medical air/oxygen and supplies used during transport.
• Maintain knowledge of streets within the response area of the mobile unit.
