Job summary

NHC HealthCare Lexington is seeking a Life Enrichment Director to design and lead engaging activities promoting social connection, wellness, and quality of life for residents. You will foster a vibrant community atmosphere and supervise activities staff to deliver meaningful programs.

The role requires evening/weekend availability, a background in senior activities, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for residents in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities in senior living is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess each individual patient to determine activity interests and needs.
• Provide therapeutic activities meeting interests and needs.
• Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings.
• Supervise activities assistants including training, scheduling, evaluation.
• Manage the center volunteer program including recruitment, training, scheduling and recognition.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines for programming.
• Partner with other departments to support community marketing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Highlights

• Assess each individual patient to determine activity interests and needs.
• Provide therapeutic activities which meet the individual interests and needs of each patient.
• Facilitating monthly Resident Council meetings
• Supervising activities assistants to include training, scheduling, evaluation, etc.
• Managing the center volunteer program to include recruitment, training, scheduling and recognition
• Ensuring that all local, State and Federal guidelines regarding programming are met
• Partnering with other departments to support marketing efforts in the community
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• Prior experience in Activities in Senior Living preferred
• High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in related field (Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, etc.) preferred but not required.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging activities and events.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs with the ability to learn new applications.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of residents and staff.
• Ability to set-up/tear-down for activities; including, but not limited to, moving furniture and setting up folding tables.
• Clean driving record.
