Job summary

Cottonwood Manor Assisted Living, operated by The Pennant Group, Inc., invites qualified candidates to apply for the Life Enrichment Director role in Green Bay, Wisconsin. You will plan and oversee a resident-centered activities program, collaborating with staff to deliver diverse events that promote independence and engagement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services preferred.
  • Prior experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and oversee the activities program for residents.
  • Create a multi-faceted daily/monthly calendar suitable for all care levels.
  • Coordinate with Activities staff and establish community partnerships for diverse programming.
  • Organize volunteer opportunities and transport residents to activities.
  • Ensure activity supplies are ordered and available.

About The Opportunity

The Life Enrichment Director plans, implements and oversees the Activities program for our residents. Works in conjunction with the Activities staff to create a multi-faceted daily/monthly calendar that is appropriate for all care levels and includes events that encourage resident individuality, participation and leadership.

  • Provides a well-balanced daily and monthly calendar of programs and events of interest to the residents. Routinely seeks and is open to resident feedback on activity likes/dislikes and on suggestions for future programs.
  • Establishes and maintains community partnerships to offer a wide variety of choices for residents and collaborates with other organizations/businesses to promote joint programming.
  • Provides opportunities for residents to engage in volunteer projects in the surrounding community.
  • Ensures that activities supplies are ordered and available for use.
  • Transports residents to various activities and events in the community.
Critical Success Factors
  • Is energetic, personable, enthusiastic, creative and imaginative.
  • Able to communicate intentions and directions to residents and staff and be an effective, empathetic listener.
  • High school diploma or GED. Prefer college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services and/or two (2) years of equivalent work experience in the field.
  • Prior experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing staff and volunteers.
  • Current CPR/first aid certification.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record with no major violations.
