Job summary

Franklin Park Sonterra in San Antonio, TX seeks a Life Enrichment Coordinator to lead memory care-focused activities and therapeutic recreation. This full-time role runs 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends; pay is based on experience.

You will plan community activities, coordinate monthly calendars and newsletters, encourage resident participation, handle supplies, and support safe, meaningful outings while upholding residents' privacy and rights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Background in art, music, drama, or occupational therapy preferred.
• One-year experience in social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred.
• Experience with Alzheimer’s or seniors with Dementia preferred.
• Volunteer recruitment and training experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist DLE with planning, coordinating and running all community activities.
• Assist planning of the monthly activities calendar and monthly newsletter.
• Encourage residents to participate in community activities, assisting them to attend, while supporting the resident’s independence.
• Help with ordering supplies and equipment for regular activities.
• Attend outings off-site and help to keep track of residents ensuring a meaningful and safe trip for all.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by the DLE.
• Maintains the Activity Participation Tracking Chart.
• Assists in the success of the community Parallel Programming schedule.
• When interacting with residents and/or family members, is mindful of the Resident’s Rights to Privacy.
• All employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all community residents.

Franklin Park Sonterra, is seeking someone with experience in memory care and therapeutic recreation to join the staff as Life Enrichment Coordinator. This is a Full-Time position scheduled to work 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday with occasional weekends. Pay rate is depending on experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Bi-lingual a plus
• Able to communicate effective with all levels of management, employees, residents, family members, and outside contacts
