Job summary

Sun Health's Grandview Terrace in Sun City West, AZ seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant to support residents with creative living activities, events, and therapies. You will coordinate programs under the Director of Life Enrichment and help build social skills and confidence.

This role requires a high school diploma, 1 year experience in recreational activities and senior care, plus certifications (Fingerprint Clearance Card, food handler, CPR, ADOT).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in recreational activity programs-Preferred.
• Experience working with senior population-Preferred.
• Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Efficient in adhering to deadlines.
• Possess basic math and proof-reading skills.
• Creative in decorating for events and other activities.
• Must be organized, dependable, able to multitask and willing to take on extra responsibility.
• Must be customer-oriented and friendly.
• REQUIRED-Possess Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, Food handler's card, CPR certification, and ADOT certification.

Responsibilities

• Meets and interacts with all the residents.
• Performs clerical tasks: typing, record keeping, correspondence, and filing.
• Keeps track of deadlines for shows, trips, and appointments.
• Writes, creates, and posts flyers and special announcements in collaboration with the Director/Coordinator.
• Assists with development and finished product of the monthly newsletter.
• Uses a car to run necessary errands.
• Operates A/V equipment to broadcast movies and projection.
• Works with resident committees and volunteers to accomplish goals.
• Accompanies residents on trips and theater outings.
• Develops and follows through on projects designated by the Director and LE Coordinator.
• Coordinates and hosts all special events, including holiday events, decorating the community.
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure customer service.
• Purchases and initiates ideas for decorations.
• Takes charge of craft and other creative areas when necessary.
• Performs other duties as deemed by the Director.
• Covers for weekend and evening programs as needed.

Your Mission:

Under the supervision of the Director of Life Enrichment, the Life Enrichment Assistant collaborates with team members to coordinate, implement, and direct recreational, educational, or therapeutic activity programs that assists residents in developing Creative Living keystone offerings. This includes intellectual, physical, social, and recreational opportunities, and further assists in building interpersonal relationships, social skills, and confidence to participate in group activities.

• Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Director.
• Covers for weekend and evening programs as needed.
