Job summary

Spring Grove Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to plan, coordinate, and deliver enriching programs for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. The role supports resident engagement and community connections, backed by Marquis Health Consulting Services.

The position involves evenings and weekends as needed, with a focus on creating meaningful, enjoyable activities that promote well-being and social interaction for residents.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in senior living, recreation, activities, or a related field.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong organization and communication skills; able to motivate residents and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and leading activities for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
• Maintain calendar of activities, events, and resident-centered programs.
• Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers to boost resident engagement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with schools, businesses, and community orgs.
• Ensure activities are conducted safely and in compliance with regulations; evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities for Life Enrichment Assistant

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and leading activities and enrichment programs for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.
• Support the Life Enrichment Director in maintaining a comprehensive calendar of activities, special events, and resident-centered programs.
• Help recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers to enhance resident engagement and community involvement.
• Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with local schools, businesses, and community organizations.
• Encourage resident participation by building positive relationships and tailoring activities to resident interests and abilities.
• Support department operations, including activity preparation, documentation, supply management, and event coordination.
• Assist with supervising activity staff and volunteers while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Ensure activities are conducted safely and in compliance with applicable state, federal, and organizational regulations.
• Provide support during evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

Qualifications for Life Enrichment Assistant

• At least one (1) year of experience in senior living, recreation, activities, or a related field preferred.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate residents, staff, and volunteers while fostering a welcoming and engaging environment.
• Working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to resident services and activities preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the ability to learn new software applications.
• Ability to maintain required state-level certifications or licenses (such as a CDL, if applicable, for resident transportation duties).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.
