Job summary

The Residence at Boyertown is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to enhance residents' daily lives through engaging activities, supportive interactions, and personalized engagement. You will facilitate and support group activities, transportation, and collaborate with the care team to foster a positive community.

You will help create meaningful experiences, coordinate events, and assist with daily programs while ensuring safety and inclusivity for all residents.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • PA driver’s license required with a clean driving record per state rules.
  • Experience in recreational therapy or senior care preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in senior care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, patient and compassionate demeanor.
  • Team-oriented, organized and able to multitask.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; comfortable with technology.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate social and recreational activities that meet residents' mental, physical, spiritual and social needs.
  • Create an inviting environment where residents feel safe and encouraged to participate.
  • Engage residents in daily activities aligned with their interests and abilities.
  • Monitor resident wellness and collaborate on holistic individualized care plans.
  • Drive residents to appointments, outings, and events in the community bus.
  • Assist in maintaining and operating the Residence Store.
  • Deliver exceptional service mindful of mobility, memory, or sensory needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for residents.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and families while upholding ethics and integrity.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative, compassionate, and enthusiastic Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team. This role will make a daily impact in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing support, group transportation, and assistance with activities. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a positive and engaging environment. The Life Enrichment Assistant will help bring joy to our residents' daily lives through thoughtful interactions, purposeful activities, and personalized engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and facilitate social and recreational activities that enhance the mental, physical, spiritual and social needs of residents and that allow residents to continue playing an active role in their community.
  • Create an inviting and inclusive environment where all residents feel safe and encouraged to participate.
  • Engage residents in daily activities aligning with their interests and abilities.
  • Monitor resident wellness and collaborate with team members to implement holistic individualized care plans.
  • Drive residents to appointments, outings, and special events in the community bus.
  • Assist in maintaining and operating the Residence Store.
  • Deliver exceptional service while being mindful of mobility, memory, or sensory needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for residents that supports a positive community experience.
  • Build meaningful, genuine relationships with residents and their families while upholding ethics and integrity.
Requirements
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • A valid PA state driver's license is required, with no more than two moving violations in a three-year period as determined by insurance industry standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in recreational therapy or related field preferred, ideally in a senior living, healthcare, or a similar setting.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to senior care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, patient, and compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and remain highly organized.
  • Technological proficiency (Microsoft Office, typing, printing, multi-line phone systems, etc.).
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and make confident ethical decisions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
  • Ability to move comfortably and safely, which can include lifting, bending, stretching, squatting, etc.
  • Ability to safely assist with resident mobility and participate in physical activities
