A vibrant assisted living community in Grand Rapids seeks a full-time Life Enrichment Assistant. This role involves planning engaging activities, supporting residents, and creating memorable experiences. Join a team dedicated to fostering joy and well-being in a warm atmosphere.
Are you creative, a beacon of fun, and love planning engaging activities? If so, we're looking for a full-time Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team at the Franklin Campus! At our assisted living communities, we believe in fostering a vibrant social atmosphere where residents thrive. In this role you will have the opportunity to ignite joy, create memorable experiences, and fulfill the social needs of our residents through exciting and meaningful activities. If you're ready to make a difference while having a blast, this is the perfect role for you! The starting wage for this role is $16/hour.
The full-time position will work 40 hours per week with a weekend rotation.
Essential Job Duties:
Daily Communication & Engagement:
Prepare and display daily activity sheets on the floor each day, including weekends. Maintain up-to-date information on activity boards, including weather, date, upcoming events, and scheduled outings.
Resident Support & Interaction:
Distribute resident mail daily and assist with video calls by setting up the iPad before and returning it after each session. Provide escort services for residents to and from hair salon appointments within the community.
Activity Planning & Execution:
Develop and enter monthly activity calendars into Sagely, incorporating all seven domains of wellness. Coordinate with team schedules to ensure alignment with daily activities. Print and distribute new calendars to resident rooms and post them on activity boards at the start of each month.
Individualized Engagement:
Schedule and conduct monthly Resident Dialogues to gather feedback and connect personally with residents. Plan and deliver one-on-one activities for residents who may not participate in group programs.
Outing Coordination:
Plan and input outing details into the shared transportation calendar at least one month in advance. Prepare for outings by printing face sheets, compiling attendee lists for staff (including bus times), and assisting residents to the pick-up location 10 minutes before departure.
Program Leadership:
Take a lead role in facilitating at least one Tuesday Social per month, rotating responsibilities with other Life Enrichment team members.
Supplies & Budget Management:
Monitor inventory and add needed items to the supply order list. Clean and return any used supplies to the designated storage area by the end of the day. Track and enter activity-related expenses (supplies, performers, speakers, etc.) into the monthly budget spreadsheet and upload labeled receipts to the shared finance folder.
Attendance Tracking:
Ensure all activity attendance is accurately recorded in Sagely before the end of each shift.
