Job summary

Grand Pines Assisted Living is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support and lead activities for residents in memory care neighborhoods, with a strong focus on engagement while promoting dignity, purpose, and quality of life through meaningful experiences.

You will plan and lead group and individual activities (exercise, music, crafts, games), engage residents through structured interactions, and assist with meals as needed. Part-time shifts are available, and enthusiasm is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and carry out directions in English
• Experience working with seniors or individuals with dementia is preferred
• Creative, engaging and compassionate personality
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Minimum of 17 years of age
• Must be able to pass the state mandated criminal background screening and pre-employment

• Plan and lead group and individual activities in the memory care neighborhoods (exercise, music, crafts, games etc.)
• Engage residents through structured and spontaneous interactions
• Prepare materials and supplies for activities
• Support special events, outings and family programming
• Assist residents with meals as needed

• Utilize GEMS: Positive Approach to Dementia Care
• Plan and lead group and individual activities in the memory care neighborhoods (exercise, music, crafts, games etc.)
• Engage residents through structured and spontaneous interactions
• Prepare materials and supplies for activities
• Support special events, outings and family programming
• Assist residents with meals as needed

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents in all aspects of personal care.
• Handle emotional and physical demands of caregiving
