Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to assist in all departmental and resident activities for SNF, AL, and Residential Living, and to provide assistance to residents on an individual and group basis.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Assist in planning, scheduling, and implementing life enrichment programs.
  2. Help set up and decorate for special events, such as Mother’s Day and Christmas, which may require extra time and attention.
  3. Assist in room setup, materials, furnishings for programs, and clean-up after events.
  4. Lead programs such as exercise, educational, arts and crafts, and social events.
  5. Record attendance and operate equipment as needed.
  6. Maintain bulletin boards, prepare materials, and distribute calendars of events.
  7. Observe residents' conditions and report changes to the appropriate personnel.
  8. Chart residents’ progress and participate in Care Planning.
  9. Transport residents to and from activities and accompany them on outside trips.
  10. Assist in emergency evacuations and engage in one-on-one visits with healthcare residents.
Education and Work Experience
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: Entry Level
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Creativity and ability to teach or learn crafts and related equipment.
  • Organizational, customer service, communication, and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility for office/community setting work.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate equipment based on department needs and weather conditions.
  • Repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Visual acuity for near and far vision, including recognizing features and reading small print.
