Job summary

Frederick Living is seeking a Life Enrichment Activity Assistant to plan and lead engaging activities for residents across levels of care, including Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. You will foster meaningful relationships, support wellness, and collaborate with the Life Enrichment Team to enhance residents' quality of life.

The role requires compassion, creativity, and the ability to tailor programs to individual needs while communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to complete background checks and onboarding requirements.

SCHEDULE

• Part-time, 24 hours per week
• 48 hours per biweekly pay period
• $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
• Additional $1.00 per hour weekend differential
• Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, and weekly evening assignments
• Some holidays may be required
• Daytime hours: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Evening hours: 3:30 PM-8:30 PM
• Specific days and times may vary based on department and resident needs

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with older adults, building relationships, and creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences for residents. The Life Enrichment Activity Assistant will help provide engaging activities and programs for residents across all levels of care, including Residential Living, Memory Care/Personal Care, and Skilled Nursing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with planning and leading group and one-on-one activities for residents.
• Help provide a variety of recreational, social, creative, and wellness-focused programs.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities based on their interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Spend meaningful one-on-one time with residents who may not participate in group activities.
• Adapt activities to meet the physical and cognitive abilities of individual residents.
• Assist with activities and engagement for residents living with dementia and other cognitive or physical limitations.
• Help with community-wide events, special programs, outings, and celebrations.
• Assist residents with transportation to and from activities and outings as needed.
• Work closely with the Life Enrichment Team and other departments to support resident engagement and quality of life.

• Maintain a positive, welcoming, and respectful environment for residents.
• Complete basic activity documentation as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience working with older adults, senior living, activities, recreation, dementia care, or a similar setting is helpful but not required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and onboarding requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to hear, see, and communicate effectively with residents and coworkers.
• Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents as needed.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and work at the level of a bed or chair.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Ability to assist with resident outings and transportation.
