Job summary

Senior living is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our Life Engagement team. Bring enthusiasm to help turn each day into an adventure for our residents, creating engaging activities that nurture mind, body and spirit.

You will support the Life Engagement Manager, help schedule events, drive the community van when needed, assist with decorations and gardening, and tailor spiritual activities to resident preferences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience working with the elderly.
• First Aid Certification, a valid license to drive a passenger vehicle and clean motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Establish a program of activities that stimulates the mind, body, and soul.
• Foster a positive leisure atmosphere for spiritual, cultural, physical, intellectual, and social needs of residents.
• Promote residents’ attendance at events and activities.
• Assist in preparation of activity calendar and input of newsletter.
• Conduct activity programs as assigned.
• Drive community van and bus as needed.
• Assist with decorations for holidays and special occasions.
• Assist residents with gardening projects.
• Arrange for appropriate spiritual activities per resident preferences.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working hand-in-hand with the Life Engagement Manager, you’ll help establish a program of activities that stimulates the mind, body, and soul.
• You’ll foster a positive atmosphere with leisure activities that cater to the spiritual, cultural, physical, intellectual, and social needs of our residents, both within and outside the Community.
• Promote residents’ attendance at events and activities.
• Assist in preparation of activity calendar and input of newsletter.
• Conduct activity programs as assigned.
• Drive community van and bus as needed.
• Assist with decorations for holidays and special occasions.
• Assist residents with gardening projects.

What you’ll bring to the table:
