Job summary

RTX’s Life Cycle Engineering team in MA (TEWKSBURY) seeks a Life Cycle Engineer to analyze RAM metrics and support program success across the product life cycle.

You will collaborate with engineers, program leaders and customers to ensure reliability, maintainability and supportability from conception to deactivation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM obtained by start date or earlier.
  • Experience via internships, co-ops, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform RAM analyses including MTBF/MTTR and RAM modelling.
  • Assess production and field failures, determine root cause and RCCA.
  • Support FRACAS tasks by analyzing failure data and investigations.
  • Develop supportability analyses and provisioning data.
  • Collaborate with Chief Engineers, Program Directors and Managers.
  • Apply logistics principles to complex program concepts and plans.
  • Provide support for proposal development and BOE writing.

What You Will Do:

Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. As a Life Cycle Engineer,you’llbe an integral part of the Engineering Design team interfacing directly with team members and stakeholders including customers and program leaders. In this role, you’re responsible for a variety of analyses and trade studies to ensure the systems we design are reliable and easily maintained. Perform Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analyses including mean time between failure (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), RAM Modelling, and Failure Modes Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) Assess production and field failures and determining root cause and corrective action (RCCA) Support Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) tasks by analyzing failure data, trends, and supporting failure investigations Develop and maintain supportability analyses and provisioning data Collaborate with cross-product teams including Chief Engineers, Program Directors and Program Managers Apply advanced logistics principles to develop complex program level concepts and plans Provide support for proposal development and BOE writing.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience working in a professional environment such as internships or co-ops and/or on project teams
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to present to work collaboratively across disciplines
  • Experience with various areas of the Technical Data Package (drawings, parts lists, and electrical schematics) and experience generating/interpreting Parts List
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
