Job summary

Sammons Financial Group is seeking a Claims Associate to provide professional customer service for life and annuity policyholders and agents in Sioux Falls. You will review policy data, determine coverage, and answer inquiries with accuracy and empathy.

This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. You will handle calls, escalate when needed, and support process improvements to meet service levels and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; insurance or annuity/life claim experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with multiple information screens and Microsoft Office.
• 2-4 years in Insurance or Annuity/Life Claims preferred.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls from beneficiaries, agents and policyowners in a professional manner.
• Research initial claim notifications to determine coverage.
• Assist internal/external customers with claims and benefits questions.
• Escalate inquiries to leadership as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of products and procedures related to Claims.
• Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook in daily work.
• Meet KPIs, SLAs and service standards.
• Contribute to process improvements and problem solving.
