Job summary

• Make recommendations on employees' actions, conduct, and performance evaluations.
• Perform other duties as directed.

The rank of Lieutenant is a highly responsible supervisory position which involves assisting in the direction of personnel on an assigned watch or specialized supervisory or non-supervisory work of comparable responsibility.

Work may involve the proper supervision of all activities of assigned personnel that requires considerable skills, abilities, and knowledge in interpreting orders, rules, and regulations, as well as, functioning efficiently and independently with only verbal instructions from supervisors.

Duties include having formal roll call, producing shift line-ups, keeping timecards, consolidating time, investigating complaints on employees, making recommendations on employees, and making recommendations on employees' actions, conduct, and performance evaluations.

Perform other duties as directed.
