Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Security Lieutenant to join our health system team. As a trusted hospital security leader you will protect patients, visitors and staff while maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two to four years in law enforcement or public contract security, healthcare security preferred.
• Attend IAHSS Healthcare Security Officer training when offered.
• Maryland Driver’s License or adjacent state license required.
• Must be able to obtain a Special Police Commission through MD State Police.
• CPR certification must be maintained.

Responsibilities

To provide a secure environment for patient care functions of the Medical Center. To provide for the protection of patients, visitors, staff, buildings, property and grounds. Must meet all of the requirements for and be able to perform the duties of the Lieutenant-Operation when required.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Two to four years in law enforcement or public contract security, with healthcare security being preferred.
• Must attend training offered by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) as a Healthcare Security Officer when given the opportunity by the Medical Center to attend.
• Must have a valid Maryland Driver’s License, or a valid driver’s license from a neighboring state jurisdiction (PA, DC), if this is their permanent primary residence. Note: Employee is not permitted to have a suspended or revoked Maryland License on file even if their home state license for their primary residence is valid, i.e. valid in Pennsylvania while revoked in Maryland.
• Must be able to obtain a Special Police Commission through the MD State Police.
• Must maintain current CPR certification.

USD $22.81/Hr.

Max Salary

USD $37.64/Hr.

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
