Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a geospatial data professional to process datasets, classify LiDAR, and derive mapping features from LiDAR and imagery. You will work on nationwide projects, gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and contributing to precise geospatial deliverables.

Ideal candidates have experience with LiDAR and orthophotography, strong communication skills, and a commitment to growth within a collaborative team focused on infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience processing geospatial data to industry standards.
• Experience with LiDAR point clouds.
• Orthophotography mapping experience.
• Proficiency with Microstation and TerraSolid.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily processing of geospatial data, evaluating accuracy and sufficiency while ensuring compliance with project and industry standards related to aerial mapping products.
• Classification of LiDAR point clouds.
• Compilation of mapping features from LiDAR point clouds and from orthophotography.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily processing of geospatial data, including evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, and ensuring compliance to applicable project and industry standards related to aerial mapping products
• Classification of LiDAR point clouds
• Compilation of mapping features from LiDAR point clouds
• Compilationof mapping features from orthophotography
• Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to SAM

• Eagerness to advance and grow in a geospatial career and a strong commitment to making significant contributions to the team
• Strong work ethic, demonstrated integrity, and personal accountability for contributing to the team's success
• Excellent computer and technical skills, including MS Office Suite
• Microstation and TerraSolid experience is highly preferred
• Strong listening, writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience with any of the following is preferred:
  • CAD
  • GIS
  • Orthophotography
  • LiDAR Point Clouds (highly preferred)
  • LiDAR Classification (highly preferred)
  • Mapping from LiDAR or Imagery (highly preferred)
