Job summary

Centurion Planning & Design, LLC is seeking a full-time, in-office Survey LiDAR Technician to join our Survey Department. The role focuses on processing, registration, QA/QC, and production of LiDAR and point cloud data, with emphasis on terrestrial laser scanning, and support for mobile and aerial LiDAR workflows.

The candidate should have experience with point clouds, survey control, registration, feature extraction, and QA/QC.

Qualifications

Professional experience processing LiDAR, laser scanning, or point cloud data.
Experience with terrestrial LiDAR and survey data processing.
Strong knowledge of survey control, datums, and georeferencing.
Ability to identify data quality and registration issues.
Experience with large point cloud datasets.

Responsibilities

Process and register terrestrial LiDAR and laser scanning datasets.
Perform point cloud registration, alignment, cleanup, filtering, classification, and QA/QC.
Integrate LiDAR data with survey control, GNSS, total station, and other conventional data.
Extract survey features, linework, breaklines, pavement, drainage features, structures, and terrain information.
Develop surfaces, contours, terrain models, and other topographic products.
Identify and troubleshoot registration, control, coordinate system, and data-quality issues.
Prepare processed data for production in TBC, Civil 3D, and other workflows.
Process and support mobile LiDAR and aerial LiDAR datasets.
