Job summary

The Larry H. Miller Company is seeking a State Licensing Specialist to support and maintain state licensing requirements.

This role will prepare and submit license applications and renewals, maintain licensing records, and monitor ongoing regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with government licensing processes (NMLS preferred), and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Previous state licensing experience preferred.
  • Experience applying for and renewing government licenses, preferably in financial services or banking industries.
  • NMLS experience preferred.
  • Experience assisting with state licensing examinations preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit new state license applications, renewals, amendments, and required regulatory filings.
  • Prepare for and assist with state licensing examinations, audits, regulatory inquiries, and requests for information.
  • Maintain licenses required for debt collection, servicing, consumer finance, and other company operations.
  • Gather and organize financial statements, corporate records, ownership information, and other documents required for licensing.
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding any issue which may cause a legal concern
  • Maintain contract management/physical and electronic filing system for document retrieval of licensing and state regulatory items
  • Protect confidential and sensitive information concerning the company, its owners, shareholders, officers, and employees.
  • Protect the legal, financial and moral well-being of the company
  • Other tasks assigned by management
  • Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive company, financial, ownership, and employee information.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and consistently produces accurate work.
  • Plans and prioritizes work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Organizes and maintains complete, accurate, and easily accessible records.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with regulatory agencies, management, coworkers, and outside business partners.
  • Manages multiple assignments and competing priorities effectively.
  • Adapts to changing regulations, processes, priorities, and business needs.
  • Works independently while keeping appropriate individuals informed of progress and concerns.
  • Follows through on commitments and accepts responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain stationary for continuous periods of time. Constantly operate a computer and phone. Frequently communicates with customers, coworkers, and managers about accounts. Able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
