Job summary

The Licensing Program Coordinator at Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Inc. oversees the Academy (JK-5th Grade) programs, ensuring licensing compliance, program quality, staff supervision, family engagement, and budget management to provide a safe, engaging, developmentally appropriate environment that supports positive youth outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or Human Development with related field as required by SD DSS licensing.
• Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education is acceptable.
• Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent recognized credential.
• Montessori certification plus at least one year of licensed childcare experience is acceptable.
• Child Development Technician diploma is acceptable.
• Four years of verifiable experience in a licensed childcare center or school-age program is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of licensed Club programs, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high quality.
• Ensure programming is developmentally appropriate and supports positive youth outcomes.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
• Provide coaching and feedback to staff for professional growth.
• Lead staff meetings and support ongoing professional development.
• Maintain licensing documentation and coordinate inspections and reviews.
• Ensure staff meet background check, training, and certification requirements.
• Communicate effectively with families and parents.
