Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related field.
• 5+ years of licensing engineering experience.
• Experience in nuclear/energy or highly regulated industries.
• Direct NRC interface in licensing, engineering, QA, or technical writing.
• Strong technical writing and knowledge of NRC guidance (10 CFR Parts 50 & 53).

Responsibilities

• Support NRC interactions and licensing submissions for advanced reactor projects, including construction permit audits and responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Author and prepare technical documentation for NRC review, including topical reports, white papers, and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to gather technical information and support development of licensing documentation.
• Stay current with evolving NRC regulatory guidance, executive orders, and industry standards for advanced reactor designs.
• Contribute to establishing and refining licensing processes and procedures for a developing advanced reactor program.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Licensing Engineer for an advanced reactor technology company which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in NRC licensing support, regulatory documentation, and technical writing looking to further their career in advanced reactor licensing.

• Support NRC interactions and licensing submissions for advanced reactor projects, including construction permit audits and responses to regulatory inquiries
• Author and prepare technical documentation for NRC review, including topical reports, white papers, and regulatory submissions
• Collaborate with engineering teams to gather technical information and support development of licensing documentation
• Stay current with evolving NRC regulatory guidance, executive orders, and industry standards for advanced reactor designs
• Contribute to establishing and refining licensing processes and procedures for a developing advanced reactor program

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree (or higher)
• 5+ years of licensing engineering experience
• Experience working in the nuclear/energy or highly regulated industries
• Demonstrated direct NRC interface in licensing, engineering, quality assurance, or technical writing
• Strong technical writing skills and knowledge of NRC regulatory guidance (10 CFR Parts 50 and 53) relevant to advanced reactor licensing

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with NUREG-1537 or research/test reactor licensing
• Familiarity with NRC codes and standards (ACI, ANS/ANSI, ASME, IEEE) and project management software such as Primavera P6
• Background from regulated industries (aerospace, advanced reactor safety analysis, quality assurance, or prior NRC employment) with strong communication skills
