This position ensures that licensure applications are properly reviewed and meet established requirements. It plays an important part in supporting the licensing operations of the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. As a Licensing and Certification Evaluator, you will perform the following duties:

  • Application Review: Evaluate licensure and certification applications to determine eligibility based on laws and regulations
  • Education Verification: Review transcripts and course details to confirm that applicants meet academic and training standards
  • Experience Evaluation: Assess experience documents to verify required hours, periods, and relevance to the profession
  • Documentation Research: Examine complex materials and prepare responses that address applicant questions and issues
  • Continuing Education Checks: Evaluate CE courses and providers to confirm compliance with Board requirements
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain complete certification records and ensure accurate licensure data entry
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 50% upon successful completion of probation period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Clerical Assistant 3 or Clerk Typist 3 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of complex clerical experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
