Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC in Tampa, FL is seeking a non-supervisory Water Treatment Plant Operator to maintain and operate treatment, processing, disposal, and testing equipment to meet permit and operational requirements.

You will monitor meters, record data, perform field and lab tests, adjust control settings, ensure safety, and follow EPA/Florida regulations while supporting on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must read, write and understand English for operations and safety instructions.
• Ability to learn and operate multiple machines and equipment.
• Ability to work in a team and take on new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating conditions, meters and gauges.
• Record meter readings and operational data.
• Operate equipment to purify water and process or dispose of waste.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, grounds and work areas.
• Follow EPA and Florida regulations.
• Ensure safety standards are met.
• Tends to pumps, engines, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Monitor control panels and adjust valves remotely as needed.
• Perform field and lab tests for process control and permit compliance.
• Carry out manual labor and basic maintenance tasks.
• Assist in other areas of the plant as needed.
