Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor in Indiana to oversee efficient, compliant operation of wastewater facilities. This role reports to the Area Manager and requires hands-on management of plant operations, staff scheduling, and regulatory reporting.

Qualified applicants will have at least three years in wastewater operations, a Class 3 license (Class 4 preferred), and a strong knowledge of NPDES limits and lab procedures.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience operating in a wastewater treatment facility or equivalent.
• Significant experience in wastewater operations and laboratory procedures.
• Possession of a Class 3 Wastewater Operator’s License (Class 4 preferred).
• Knowledge of NPDES limits and wastewater regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local wastewater regulations.
• Provide capital and operational budget planning and implementation for wastewater facilities.
• Schedule personnel and assign tasks.
• Establish and implement SOPs and process controls; oversee training.
• Lead quality initiatives and regulatory reporting (MORs, DMRs, RDCs, turbidity).
• Coordinate with departments including Customer Service and Wastewater Collection; support additional tasks as needed.
