Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's OptumCare is hiring a Licensed Vocational Nurse I in California. You will perform moderately complex patient-oriented procedures under supervision, manage medications, vital signs, and patient preparation, while supporting RN and clinicians in a fast-paced health care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LVN program.
• Active, unrestricted California LVN license.
• BLS certification or eligible at time of hire.
• IV and Blood withdrawal certified.

Responsibilities

• Direct patients to exam/treatment areas and prepare for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain records, vitals, and pertinent information for the RN or clinician.
• Administer medications and perform tests under supervision.
• Notify pharmacies of new prescriptions and refills as ordered.
• Collect, label, and transport specimens to appropriate destinations.
• Maintain and clean exam/treatment areas and equipment.
• Maintain logs and inventories of supplies.
• Perform telephone screening.
