Ascension in Austin, Texas seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Orthopedics Hip Knee department. Schedule is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, at Medical Park Tower. • Deliver personalized patient care under the direct guidance of a Registered Nurse or Physician, ensuring every individual receives compassionate treatment that fully aligns with clinical standards and state licensure.
• Assess patient well-being continuously by gathering critical health data, identifying subtle changes in condition, and collaborating with the care team to maintain a safe, healing environment.
• Administer medications safely and accurately, actively observing for and responding to any adverse reactions to therapeutic treatments or prescriptions to maximize patient safety.
• Execute routine diagnostic laboratory tests and therapeutic services, streamlining clinical workflows so patients receive timely, accurate diagnoses and treatments.
• Empower patients and their families through education, guiding them on discharge plans, holistic health strategies, and follow-up care to foster confidence and strong health outcomes at home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
