Job summary

Ascension in Austin, Texas seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Orthopedics Hip Knee department. Schedule is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, at Medical Park Tower. You will provide patient care under supervision, monitor health conditions, administer medications, perform routine labs, and support discharge planning.

Minimum requirements include a Texas LVN license and BLS within 30 days of hire. This role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job experience required.
• Professional licensure/certification can substitute education or experience where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized patient care under direct guidance of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
• Assess patient well-being by gathering health data and communicating with the care team.
• Administer medications safely and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform routine diagnostic laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educate patients and families on discharge plans and follow-up care.
